The TomTom Locality Index prioritizes localities from administrative, postal, and other locality sources for each map feature to enable application developers to utilize one set of tools when building FIND applications that cover multiple countries.
In addition, the TomTom Locality Index identifies major localities to differentiate between multiple localities that may share the same name.
The TomTom Locality Index is a set of files that are not part of the standard MultiNet® data specification. Please see the separate Locality Index specification located on this documentation DVD for more information.
