A MultiNet
® Stucture is the database representation of a construction used
to ensure a direct passage of a transportation element over another transportation element,
over a cavity or under the earth's surface. In Shapefile format, structures are stored as:
- as Area Structures - Aqueducts;
- ls Line Structures - Bridge, Aqueduct or Tunnel; and
- ps Point Structures - Bridge, Aqueduct or Tunnel.
As a group, these structures are known as "Brunnels."
Note: Only point brunnels are included
in a Grade Separated Crossing (GSC).
Road Elements in a Tunnel or on a Bridge are
also flagged with the Brunnel Attribute.
See also Level Differences and Structures later in this user guide for details and use of
Brunnels in Grade Separated Crossings.
